Happy Birthday, “President” Karimov!
Student movement «Fiery Hearts» was established in January 2012 in order to unite young people who are not indifferent to the problems of human rights violations.
We organized our first protest on January 30, 2012 to recall the European society and its leaders all the human rights problems in Uzbekistan.
We chose this day also because it is the birthday of the countries leader Islam Karimov, who we believe is responsible for most of them.
This year, for the second time we organize a special event to mark the 75th birthday of the Uzbek dictator, who has been ruling the country for 24 years now and is considered by many experts as one of the most brutal and corrupt leaders in the world.
Under his dictatorship, Uzbekistan suffered 24 miserable and deteriorating years that lead the country to the numerous cases of torture, killings and illegal prosecution. One of the worst crimes committed by the dictatorship regime of Karimov is the Andijan massacre.
We urge all of YOU to watch at least once the trailer for the film ‘Massacre in Uzbekistan’ by Michael Andersen and spread the word about those horrible events. Be with us on this day because only together we can fight against the dictator. This is the first feature length film (80 min) about the massacre in Andijan in 2005 and the ongoing repression in Uzbekistan.
