Portraits of Uzbek human rights defender Mutabar Tadjibayeva were made by Swiss photographer Marie Bastashevski, who also cooperates with funds providing Internet security consulting.
The New York photo exhibition also presents documents proving persecution of the Uzbek human rights activist by the Uzbek security services since 2002.
Visitors of the exhibition can see the documents and portraits of Mutabar Tadjibayeva until 8 May 2015.
The first similar exhibition was organized in 1998. Over the past 16 years, the exhibitions have demonstrated works of 200 photographers, who picture social justice issues and human rights violations.
