Bobomurod Razzokov: I tried to overcome the disease

Bobomurod Razzokov state of health has sharply deteriorated in the prison.

The public got to know that from Bobomurod Razzokov’s letter to his eldest son Shukhrat. In his letter, Razzokov mentioned that he badly suffers from the renal, liver and heart failures.

The human rights activist’s son passed the letter to “Ezgulik” representatives.

Mutabar Tadjibayeva was the first winner of the prestigious Actions by Christians against Torture award

France-based ACAT human rights organization awarded Mutabar Tadjibayeva, the head of Fiery Hearts Club International Human Rights Organization, with the prestigious Engel-Tertre award.

ACAT informed Tadjibayeva about this on Wednesday, 15 October.

“We congratulate you for your courage and determination, please accept my best wishes,” – Francois Walter, the chairman of the ACAT Foundation, wrote in the letter addressed to the human rights activist.

The award ceremony will be held on 15 November 2014 within the framework of the event in the Paris Catholic Institute. The prize includes a cash award.

Osh branch of the Kyrgyz National Security Committee sues Uzbek journalist Shahrukh Saipov accusing him of libel.

Today, on 28 August, the Osh city court will begin reviewing the legal action against independent Uzbek journalist, freelancer of Fergana.ru news agency Shahrukh Saipov, who is accused of libelby the Osh branch of the Kyrgyz National Security Committee (GKNB).

Fergana.ru news agency reported on 28 August that the Osh branch of the Kyrgyz National Security Committee (GKNB) withdrew its lawsuit against journalist Shahrukh Saipov.

Solidzhon Abdurakhmanov won prestigious award in Germany

Freelance journalist from Uzbekistan Solidzhon Abdurakhmanov, in prison since 2008, was awarded a Johann Philipp Palm Prize for freedom of speech and the press.

Independent information agency Uznews.net reported on 26 August that 64-year-old imprisoned journalist from Uzbekistan Solidzhon Abdurakhmanov won a 2014 Johann Philipp Palm Prize for freedom of speech and the press. The other winner of this award was Nazeeha Saeed, a journalist from Bahrain.

“Solidzhon Abdurakhmanov is a brave critic and journalist unjustly sentenced to 10 years in prison,” said the Palm-Foundation. “He made reports about consequences of the Aral Sea desiccation.”

Mirsobir Khamidkariev “voluntarily” rejected his lawyer + (video)

According to relatives of Uzbek refugee Mirsobir Khamidkariev, who was kidnapped in the center of Moscow in early June 2014, Uzbek interrogators forced him to refuse services of the lawyer they hired for him.

Marguba Khamidkarieva, the mother of Uzbek businessman Mirsobir Khamidkariev, told “Jarayon” in mid-August 2014 that her son, who is currently under investigations in Tashkent, refused services of the lawyer his family hired to protect him.
