Petition for the of political prosoners in Uzbekistan

Dear Sir, Madame

We appeal to the citizens, civil society organizations and governments of free Europe to support and sign our petition for the release of political prisoners in Uzbekistan.

We are convinced that under the established brutal authoritarian political regime of Uzbekistan the only hope for the release of political prisoners is the political pressure on Uzbek authorities by the free countries of Europe, its citizens, public organizations and governments.

Thieves in law or who stole $ 352,000 from disabled people of Uzbekistan?

In February 2008, the Uzbek Society of Disabled Persons started a project “Establishment of telecommunication centers for people with disabilities.” The goal of the project was to provide free access to the Internet for people with disabilities in Uzbekistan.

The project, supported by the Ministry for Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan (MVESIT), was financed by the Partnership Fund for Gratuitous Assistance of the Government of Japan and the Japanese Embassy in Tashkent. The total project cost was $ 352,000.

MEA Laureate files complaint against Uzbek government for forcible sterilisation and torture

Mutabar Tadjibayeva, one of Uzbekistan’s best known human rights defenders and Laureate of the Martin Ennals Award 2008, has filed a complaint against Uzbekistan for her brutal torture and forced sterilisation when she was serving an eight-year prison sentence for her human rights activities.
